This report examines the region’s energy challenges, investment gaps, and opportunities in solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal power. It also highlights grassroots innovation in Nigeria, including community-led renewable energy solutions, and explores the DRC’s mineral wealth and its links to economic opportunity and conflict. The report calls for stronger governance, infrastructure, financing, technical skills, regional cooperation, and international partnerships to unlock Africa’s renewable energy potential and ensure its natural resources drive inclusive and sustainable development.
