Cultivating a Smarter Future: Innovation for Sustainable Nigerian Agriculture
Despite being a major contributor to Nigeria’s GDP, the agricultural sector faces significant challenges. Limited access to technology, inefficient resource use, and climate change threaten food security and farmer livelihoods.
NCIC fosters the development and adoption of smart agriculture technologies to improve efficiency, productivity, and sustainability in the agricultural sector.
We incubate and accelerate promising startups developing innovative solutions for smart agriculture. Our programs, like the Agri Business Innovation Challenge, provide funding, mentorship, and market access to ventures tackling challenges like precision agriculture, improved farm management practices, and access to climate-resilient crop varieties. This program, in partnership with Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), has already supported 15 startups that provides different solutions that cuts across the nutrition supply chain, from farm-to-fork.
Accessing finance remains a challenge for many AgriTech ventures. NCIC bridges this gap by connecting them with potential investors through our network and programs. For instance, the Agri Business Innovation Challenge provides a platform for innovators with the Agric ventures to showcase their solutions to a global audience of investors and stakeholders. This helps secure funding for promising technologies and accelerate their deployment across Nigerian farms
Leading and driving the growth of the Nigerian green economy in both the private and public sectors.
