Powering Nigeria's Sustainable Future: Bridging the Gap with Innovation
Despite vast renewable energy resources, Nigeria faces a significant energy deficit. Only 5.65 % of the population has access to reliable power, with an over-reliance on fossil fuels. Nigeria generates and supplies between 3,000 and 4,000 megawatts of grid electricity to over 200 million citizens across the country, a development described as abysmally poor by experts and industry players
Our incubation and acceleration programs, like the Embryo Incubation Program, identify and nurture promising startups developing innovative renewable energy technologies. This program, in partnership with All On, has already supported several startups developing solar solutions for rural communities. By providing seed funding, mentorship, and access to markets, NCIC helps these ventures bridge the commercialization gap and bring clean energy solutions to the people who need them most.
NCIC recognizes the need for a skilled workforce to support the renewable energy transition. We offer training programs and workshops, often in collaboration with partners to equip businesses and communities with the knowledge and skills to adopt and maintain renewable energy systems
Access to finance remains a significant hurdle for renewable energy ventures. NCIC bridges this gap by connecting entrepreneurs with potential investors through our network and programs. For instance, the Climate Launch Pad program, the world’s largest green business pitch competition with NCIC as the Nigerian representative, provides a platform for early-stage ventures to showcase their solutions to a global audience of investors and stakeholders
Leading and driving the growth of the Nigerian green economy in both the private and public sectors.
