Equity And Sustainability Towards A Prosperous Future
The Nigeria Climate Innovation Center continues to amplify its efforts in driving the growth of a viable green economy by seeking new methodologies of closing the gender gap in climate entrepreneurship. With only 0.7 women entrepreneurs for every 1 male, supporting female founders is crucial for developing equitable climate solutions. Research shows women need assistance to mitigate and adapt to climate change impacts. As an entrepreneurship and innovation organization, we aim to collaborate with industry players/stakeholders in identifying systemic biases holding back the growth of women-led ventures in clean energy and the green economy.
Through the #weclimbequally workshop, players and industry members will build on the findings to increase institutional support for women within their organization, across Nigeria, and throughout society. Our collective goal is to foster gender equality and climate-focused entrepreneurship by providing targeted programs, leadership support, policy reforms and more. Additionally, and to drive the meaningful change we hope to see following the workshop, we are offering 50 women-led entrepreneurs the opportunity to enter a fully-funded inclusive business accelerator, to supercharge their business acumen and set them up for running successful climate-focused ventures.
Join us in embedding this lens to empower women climate leaders and amplify their innovative ideas toward a sustainable Nigeria.
Leading and driving the growth of the Nigerian green economy in both the private and public sectors.
