Lolade is the Technical Advisor on Solar and Access in the Advisory Power Team of the Vice President of Nigeria, where she advises on policy, regulation and private sector engagement to promote the use of renewable technology across the country, both in the on-grid and off-grid sectors. In 2017, she led in the successful deployment of stand alone solar home systems across 11 states to over 180,000 beneficiaries in remote and un served communities, which still relied on inefficient and dangerous modes of electrification.
In addition to her work in the Office of the Vice President, she supports the implementation of key strategies and policies in the off grid space by working closely with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Nigeria. She leads on the implementation of the Nigerian Off-Grid Electrification Strategy, focusing on Mini grid development, Stand-alone solar systems and the provision of decentralized power solutions to economic clusters in order to electrify the estimated 80 million Nigerians without access to electricity. Lolade also plays an active role in redefining the Nigerian Mobile Money Sector in order to increase financial inclusion. She has supported in engagements with the Banks, Telcos, Mobile Money Operators and the Regulators to ensure that the Federal Government is successful in its vision to increase social inclusion by extending financial services to excluded regions in Nigeria.
Prior to working in the Federal Government, Lolade worked with the Lagos State Electricity Board as Project Lead for the Lagos Solar Project. The Lagos Solar project, which was co-funded by the Department for Infrastructure Development (DFID) and Lagos State Government, is currently the largest segregated solar power project in West Africa, which currently provides 5MW of embedded solar power to 172 schools and 33 primary healthcare facilities located in the rural and riverine areas of Lagos State.
Lolade also worked as the Commercial and Contracts Director for Caverton Helicopters, an indigenous aviation logistics company. She led the key operations and strategy of the company over 7 years and managed a contract portfolio for clients in Nigeria and West Africa with a combined value of over USD $1.5bn.
Lolade is a certified Solar trainer with the Renewables Academy AG (RENAC) Berlin and is also a qualified helicopter pilot. She is also the holder of an MSc in Air Transport Management from the School of Aeronautics at Cranfield University UK and also holds a BSc in Computer Science from Kings College London.
With over ten years’ experience in the renewable energy sector, Tinyan Ogiehor is highly skilled in managing renewable energy portfolios. Having worked at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the office of the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Millennium Development Goals (OSSAP-MDGs) both on solar related projects as well as the USAID funded Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Program (REEEP) where he was involved providing technical assistance for the successful deployment of renewable energy technology projects managing the implementation of the $4 million DCA facility provided by USAID.
His most recent role as Technical Project Manager on the £58 million Solar Nigeria Programme enabled him to develop the off-grid solar market in Nigeria immensely. This he achieved through implementation of solar for social projects for schools, clinics and hospitals in Lagos, Kaduna and Borno states of Nigeria (with over 6.5MWs of installed solar power till date).
He is presently the solar/ off-grid expert with the World Bank ensuring his expertise adequately supports the Nigeria Climate Innovation Center, which will promote innovative businesses using solar to improve agriculture, energy access etc. while enabling job creation.
Tinyan has a working knowledge of the off-grid solar market in Nigeria, West and East Africa. He has formed strategic partnerships with good number of the solar companies and financial institutions needed to scale this market in the Sub Sahara region. Overall, he provides the team with great business and technical lead on all projects embarked on.
Ife Adebayo currently works as a Special Assistant to the Vice President on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In this role he advises His Excellency the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, about issues on Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Develops programs and coordinates activities with various government agencies to support the growth of technology, encourage innovation, and provide an enabling environment for technology entrepreneurs and tech start-ups in Nigeria. He is part of the team that designed programs and projects for the Social Development, Job Creation and Economic programmes of the Federal Government in the Office of the Vice President.
He is an IT Business Analyst with experience in Software Development, Software Testing, Systems Analysis, Software Architecture and IT project management. A member of the British Computer Society, prior to this he was the Founding Partner/Technical Director of E-FAB Solutions, a software development company where he provided business decision-making and technical direction for the company. With over 10 years of experience in this field he has held positions as a Network Engineer, Software Developer, Systems Administrator, Information Systems Architect, Business Development Consultant, Software Applications Analyst with certifications in software testing, IT Architecture and Microsoft.net.
In 2014, he served as the Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Abuja, Nigeria.
Ife holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria and a graduate of Business Information Systems from the University of East London.
Olawale Anifowose is passionate about entrepreneurship and has 15years experience working with entrepreneurs across sectors. He’s a member of the management board of Enterprise Development Center, Pan Atlantic University, Managing Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Network Nigeria (GEN Nigeria) and a member of the steering committee for the Global Entrepreneurship Network Africa (GEN Africa).
He is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School, Senior Management Program (SMP35) and also an alumnus of the US State Department, International Visitor Leadership Program- SME Development. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK, a certified Microsoft Build-Your-Business trainer, Certified Entrepreneurial Coach from Learning and Skills Management Centre (LSM) United Kingdom, with over 10years experience in SME development; Olawale has provided advisory and support to several successful Startups and has led 2 successful startups himself in fashion and agriculture.
He is also the radio host of enterprise stories, a radio program that features entrepreneurship endeavors of Nigerian SMEs. Olawale also helped set up a youth enterprise and mentoring program, ―The Startup Hub for new graduates and the co-founder of elab accelerator. Wale holds a bachelors degree in Economics and M.Sc. in Marketing both from the University of Lagos and a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration from SMC University, Switzerland with specialization in SME development.
